Weekend’s ootd shots! played around with the aztec crop top and skirt for 2 different looks. Look 1 with the black crop top is more casual chic, Look 2 with the red maxi skirt is more bohemian. Both pairs of earrings are vintage, bought from eBay.
So I had an amazingly fun time shooting last weekend with my photographer friend Holly Haines. She is a curvy girl herself and for the first time I had a photographer that knew to get on a ladder to shoot me. lol. This is one of my favorite edits. There are many more to come!
Also I have a show tomorrow in san diego at The Go Lounge. If you’re in town stop by at 11!

I am a huge fan of working with whats in your closet and buying a piece (or two) to update what you already have. I also love mixing and matching prints and textures. Of course you already know I love body con and more fitted styles that really show off my shape. It’s no secret pencil skirts are of one of my absolute favorites and I need more of them in my life. Peplum for me can be hit or miss but this top fit so well and I loved the texture so it was a must have.
I’m also loving Sam Edelman shoes right now. It’s really hard for me to find a comfortable, supportive and chic shoe that’s high enough but not too high (3” is perfect) and the Okala ankle strap pumps are a treat.
OUTFIT DETAILS: Top - INC MACYS, Skirt - SANCTUARY (Nordstrom) Shoes - Sam Edelman (my favs! so comfy and cute, I have two pairs now!) Belt & Bracelet - Lane Bryant, Clutch - Top Shop.

My name is Karen and I usually wear a size 18/20. I write a plus size fashion blog called Curvy Canadian and you can also follow me here on tumblr at curvycanadian.tumblr.com. This shot is from one of my most recent posts called “Crop”. I totally pushed myself outside of my normal comfort zone and decided to rock a crop top. I remember my slimmer sisters wearing them in the 90s and thinking they’d look horrible on me - but this time around, I am totally loving the trend - even on my larger body! Eff the rules that most people have about what plus size women should or shouldn’t wear. I’m so done with that!!! Horizontal stripes? Yes please. Crop tops? Totally. Bikinis? You better brace yourself, cause I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly! Fashion freedom is the best thing ever. <3
